چکیده

OBJECTIVE Carbamylation is part of the aging process and causes adverse changes in structure function proteins. Lipoproteins are subjected to carbamylation. We investigated usefulness carbamylated HDL as a prognostic indicator survival patients with type 2 diabetes association mortality outcomes. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Baseline plasma was measured by ELISA cohort 1,517 diabetes. The primary outcome all-cause mortality, secondary outcomes were cause-specific deaths, including cardiovascular, renal, infection, cancer related. RESULTS Over median follow-up 14 years, 292 died, rate 14.5 per 1,000 person-years. Plasma level higher those fatal (46.1 ± 17.8 µg/mL vs. 32.9 10.7; P < 0.01). Patients third (hazard ratio [HR] 2.11; 95% CI 1.40–3.17; 0.001) fourth quartiles (HR 6.55; 4.67–9.77; had increased risk. After adjustment for conventional risk factors, elevated independently associated 1.39; 1.28–1.52; well all mortalities. Adding improved power multivariable models predicting significant increments C index (from 0.78 0.80; 0.001), net reclassification index, integrated discrimination improvement. Empagliflozin, Cardiovascular Outcomes, and Mortality in Type 2 Diabetes.

BACKGROUND The effects of empagliflozin, an inhibitor of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2, in addition to standard care, on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality in patients with type 2 diabetes at high cardiovascular risk are not known. METHODS We randomly assigned patients to receive 10 mg or 25 mg of empagliflozin or placebo once daily. The primary composite outcome was death from cardiovas...

Adiponectin Level Predicts HDL-Cholesterol Level in Type 2 Diabetes

Background: Atherosclerotic cardiovascular complications are the major causes of morbidity and mortality in Type 2 diabetic patients. Many studies have demonstrated that adiponectin has both anti-atherogenic and anti-diabetic properties. This study aims to examine the regulatory roles of serum adiponectin in a homogeneous Type 2 diabetic cohort. Method: Of a population of 1256 registered diabet...

Inflammatory Cytokines and type 2 diabetes

Inflammatory cytokines increase in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and metabolic syndrome. This review focuses on inflammatory cytokines such as C-reactive protein (CRP), tumor necrosis factor (TNF-α), and adiponectin, a cytokine produced by adipose tissue and associated with insulin sensitivity. Despite the major role of cytokines in the development of T2D, in the case of adiponectin still...

Pharmacogenomic approach in type 2 diabetes treatment

Introduction: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is chronic health caused by the interaction between genetic and environmental factors that results in high blood glucose. The evidence-based guidelines for diabetes management are mainly based on lifestyle changes, control of risk factors, and the management of blood glucose levels. Although numerous antidiabetic agents have been developed over time, T2D trea...
